I help organizations plan and launch new programs.
My Services
I collaborate with each client to design a scope of work that meets their unique goals and objectives. This page provides some examples of what that might look like. Let’s chat about your organization’s needs!
-
I develop and execute detailed launch and implementation plans. I conduct formative research, including stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and surveys, to ensure your program is grounded in data. I create educational content tailored to your audiences.
-
I embed as a part-time member of your leadership team, overseeing program activities until your organization is ready to sustain the project internally. I mentor staff to equip them to take on program leadership, and I serve as a senior advisor on program strategy.
-
I plan and facilitate in-person or virtual convenings for project teams and/or coalitions. I gather stakeholder input to develop an interactive agenda tailored to your goals - whether that’s strategic planning, team-building, or something else. I deliver thorough documentation so you can put the ideas we generate together into action.
-
I deliver engaging talks for professional audiences on topics including abortion access, sex education, adolescent development, and the impact of technology on sexual and reproductive health.
Sample Projects
Abortion Access
After the overturn of Roe v. Wade, I was hired to conduct formative research on the online search experience of abortion seekers in the US. This research led to the creation of Charley - a secure, anonymous chatbot that helps abortion seekers understand their options and connect with trusted resources anywhere in the country. I led the development of Charley’s educational content in English and Spanish.
When the organization behind Charley was in transition, I stepped in as a fractional leader overseeing strategy and operations until Charley was ready to merge into a new nonprofit home.
Charley has been honored with a Webby Award and as a Fast Company World Changing Idea.
Contraceptive Access
The Contraceptive Access Initiative (CAI) is at the forefront of advocating for affordable, over-the-counter access to hormonal contraceptive pills. Knowing that media coverage of contraceptive options would play a key role in influencing policy, CAI engaged me to recruit and train a cadre of medical experts from a range of specialties who could serve as independent sources for journalists covering the issue.
In a major victory for contraceptive access, the Food & Drug Administration approved Opill, the first oral contraceptive to be available over the counter in the US in 2023!
Maternal Health
The Greater Newark Health Care Coalition (GNHCC) brought me on to bring structure to a newly-awarded grant to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality among Black women in the region. That effort was quickly upended by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. To meet the moment, I worked with local hospitals and community partners to design and disseminate culturally-responsive patient education materials to support the rapid transition to telehealth for perinatal care.
Over the course of three years, I went on to lead the development of a maternal health portfolio at GNHCC, securing federal funding, spearheading a community coalition, and mentoring a program manager to take over leadership of the projects.
